Sterling silver darkens (oxidizes) over time. To best preserve them, store them tightly sealed and in the dark. If they have darkened, you can polish them with a cotton cloth or whiten them (a hot bath with aluminum foil and a product for precious metals).

If you have the silver beads on a bracelet/necklace that is used, the beads will wear and therefore they will not become dark but will remain fine. But if you let the bracelet sit for a longer period of time, the beads will darken. Then you can store the bracelet tightly sealed in a dark place, or polish the silver beads occasionally with a cloth. If you have a piece of jewelry with pewter thread without leather, you can whiten the entire bracelet in a bath.
